I regret voting out Kuto, his team – Mombasa based Magistrate says
The Mombasa-based magistrate expresses regret over the decision to vote out Kuto.
Months after Magistrates and Judges were convinced to vote out outspoken President Derrick and his team and elected a timid Justice Radido, Justice Mureithi and the team, some members are now regretting their decision.
For instance, a Mombasa based Magistrate has exclusively told this reporter that Former President Derrick Kuto and some of his team were the best and now regrets voting them out.
He categorically emphasized that, President Kuto’s courage was unmatched and admirable.
” I highly regret voting out Hon.Derrick Kuto, he was simply active and the best, today we are like on our own,” he said.
He said that President Derrick Kuto and the team worked hard to ensure that the rights of magistrates and Judges were protected and safeguarded.
He added that Kuto and his administration were on high alert to ensure that the welfare of Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association’s members were well catered for.
” For instance, the current regime does not talk about issues affecting members, they gave as a lot of promises but here is where we are, nothing is happening,” he added.
This comes at a time the current Chief Justice is under sustained attack and the current leaders of KMJA are so quiet. Do they fear something?
“It’s shocking that the CJ must defend herself! What’s the work of KMJA? What does KWJA do?” Wondered one vocal Court of Appeal Judge.
Many members who spoke to us in confidence were unanimous that the fate of their Association is on free fall and they fear it might never regain its former glory.
