Big Names that quickly rebuked the the withdrawal of Judge Mugambi's Security by NPS and called for accountability.
A quick look of what they said in relations to the Judiciary Attacks;
1. Hon. Derrick Kuto;
” It’s disturbing to learn of the withdrawal of security for our brother, Hon. Mr. Justice Mugambi.
This is meant to intimidate the good Judge and by extension all Judges and Judicial officers.
In one voice, we condemn this wrong move by the National Police Service.
Our security is paramount and we should not take this lightly,”.
On the Magistrates attack, Kuto said;
” In another security scare today, an MP entered the chambers of a hon. Kadhi and ” demanded answers” on why our colleague decided the way he did.The said MP is not party to those proceedings.Clearly this is unfortunate and decisive action need to be taken to ensure the security of all of us.We need more conversation on the security of our members noting that our members have been killed in and out of Court.Our families have not been spared either,” he said.
2. NCCK Secretary General Canon Chris Kinyanjui.
” We therefore ask that in your capacity as the Cabinet Secretary provide directions to the Inspector General with regard to the provision of security services of Justice Mugambi be reinstated immediately,” NCCK said.

“The act of withdrawing the security of a sitting judge following a judicial decision that may displease the powerful is deeply concerning and must be condemned in the strongest terms possible,” Senior Counsel Bar chairperson Dr Fred Ojiambo said.
Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo;
“It is our solemn duty to address the disturbing developments surrounding Justice Lawrence Mugambi, a sitting Judge of the High Court, whose security detail was recently withdrawn following his issuance of a habeas corpus order in the case of Law Society of Kenya & 3 Others v. Inspector General of Police & 4 Others, Petition No. E436 of 2024, which culminated in contempt of court proceedings, where the Acting Inspector General was subsequently found in contempt and sentenced on the 13th September, 2024,” Odhiambo stated.
